Here are some great things happening from The Permanent Press last month: 1) The Measure of the World by Charles Davis was released in hardcover, ebook, and audiobook formats. 2) Our summer mysteries from two celebrated series were released: Deep Dive (Sam Acquillo 9) by Chris Knopf and Evergreen (Willie Black 8) by Howard Owen. 3) Edgar-award winner Bruce DeSilva gave Evergreen a stellar review in the Associated Press!

Week of 3/4/2019!

Hello folks! We have had a great week. Firstly, Booklist named Khanh Ha's new book Mrs. Rossi's Dream as one of the best new books of the year, and said "this beautifully written novel should have a place alongside the best fiction of the Vietnam War," an incredible honor! Next, Willie Morris award winner Darryl Wimberley's new mystery Post Facto was released in hardcover to voluminous orders. And finally Paul A. Barra got a fantastic review in Publishers Weekly for his upcoming thriller Westfarrow Island, out in April. A FINAL WORD, concerning the death of Judith Appelbaum

It was with a heavy heart that I read, in the July 30 New York Times, of Judith Appelbaum’s death on July 25 at the age of 78. At the same time I felt bathed by recalled fondness for the boost she gave The Permanent Press titles when we began publishing 38 years ago, while Judy served as the managing editor of Publishers Weekly.   Her dedication to advancing the cause of quality writing was was well summed up by her closing lines in an interview she gave in 1998:    “I love to see writers expand our range of...
